Skin type describes the general tendency of the skin towards oiliness and dryness. In contrast, season, hormones, drugs, cleaning habits and routine changes can affect the skin's condition on that day. Therefore, instead of identifying a skin type with a single symptom, it is more meaningful to evaluate the T zone and cheeks separately, along with the typical appearance in the last 2-4 weeks.

For an at-home observation, cleanse gently and wait 45–60 minutes without heavy products or makeup. Then consider shine, tightness and dryness on the cheeks together. Sensitivity and a tendency to acne or comedones are not primary skin types; they are separate modifiers in the assessment.

JavaScript is required for the test

The interactive test with 10 questions on this page only works in your browser and does not save the answers. When JavaScript is turned off, you can observe your skin for 45-60 minutes after gentle cleansing; if there is a significant difference between the T zone and the cheeks, persistent redness, burning or painful lesions, you may consider a dermatological evaluation.

Why is the skin type different from the skin condition?

Balanced, oily, dry or combination tendencies can provide a relatively consistent framework over time. On the other hand, seasonal shine, temporary tightness or sensitivity to a product can reflect the skin condition. Pore appearance is not diagnostic on its own; this test is only asked to facilitate personal observation.

Basic approach after assessment

The result screen provides an overview of a possibility/tendency; it is not a diagnosis, definitive classification, or product prescription. Gentle cleansing, moisturizing, and broad-spectrum sunscreen may be a basic framework. Seek dermatological evaluation if there is persistent redness, burning, painful or inflamed lesions, sudden change, or need for treatment.
